Valentine's Day is right around the corner. There used to be a time when that meant I was planning my date night outfit and hairstyle very carefully. Now the days before Valentine's Day are spent hurriedly putting together treat bags for both of my kids classmates. How times have changed. Now matter what you have planned, let's take a moment to celebrate love with two precious love bugs - Worm and Worm.
Worm loves Worm. Worm wants to marry Worm. Simple, right? Except all of their buggy friends tell them that it can't be simple. They need a cake, a dress, flowers, and all of the other trinkets that a wedding requires. Worm and Worm don't really care about these things. They just want to be married, but they go along with their friends wishes. In the end, the Worms teach their friends that love is the only necessary ingredient for a successful wedding, even if that love doesn't adhere to tradition.
This book is a great primer in marriage equality for young readers. It is sweet, simple, and teaches its reader to think outside the box.
